Senior Full-Stack Engineer / Tech Lead

About The Role

We're seeking a visionary and hands-on Technical Leader to scale our R&D team and platform. This isn't just a leadership role; it's a chance to deeply influence our product and culture through active coding, architectural design of our Back-end and Front-end platforms, and complex problem-solving. Reporting directly to the VP R&D, you'll be instrumental in driving technical excellence and a collaborative environment that fuels our rapid growth and product vision.

This position will be remote to start, with the expectation of transitioning to our Israel office once it's open.

What You'll Do

• Lead by Example: Dive into code, contribute to architectural design, and solve complex challenges to ensure high standards of quality, scalability, and reliability.
• Shape & Grow: Mentor and grow AppWork’s R&D team, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and technical brilliance.
• Drive Innovation: Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, optimize engineering processes, and reduce technical load on leadership by owning key initiatives.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Collaborate closely with Product, Design and other cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and align engineering efforts with company objectives.
  
  

• 10+ years in full stack development, with 3-5 years of experience in engineering leadership roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Exceptional hands-on proficiency in at least one of the following technologies: Node.js, Python, Java or Elixir.
• Deep understanding of modern front-end frameworks, such as React or Angular.
• Vast experience with AWS cloud platforms, architecting solutions with a broad range of AWS services.
• Experience with message queue technologies (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, Oban) for scalable data pipelines.
• Proven experience scaling R&D teams in dynamic startup environments.
• Comfort with ambiguity, quick execution, and high accountability in both leadership and coding.
• Strong ownership, a partner mindset, and a genuine hunger to build amazing features.
