ML/Data Engineer – Founding Team (First Hire) - FOUNDING TEAM

One of our clients, an early-stage fintech startup, is developing an innovative AI-driven Consistency Monitoring platform for financial institutions such as banks and insurance companies. Their mission is to ensure the stability and reliability of critical business applications that rely on AI/ML, including fraud detection systems, credit scoring engines, and other real-time decision services.

In production environments, these services tend to “age” quickly due to various factors like data drift, logic changes, external events, or orchestration anomalies. While most tools on the market focus on model performance, this company is building cutting-edge technology that monitors the stability of the business application itself. Using advanced ML methods, they generate what they call Stability Signatures – behavioral fingerprints of the business logic – and detect deviations before they impact customers or create regulatory risk.

This solution directly supports technical teams, business stakeholders, and compliance officers, making it a mission-critical layer for modern financial infrastructures.

Where They Are Now

The company has already secured early traction with several financial institutions – including three in Israel, one in Europe, and more in the U.S. They are currently in advanced discussions for a seed round of $3–4M and have already closed the first half of the round. The company is now building its core founding engineering team – a group of three who will lay the technological foundations of the product.

About the Role – ML/Data Engineer (Founding Team)

This is a unique opportunity to be the first engineering hire and play a central role in building the company’s data and ML infrastructure from the ground up. You'll work closely with the ML lead to organize and clean financial datasets, design robust pipelines, and develop scalable ML Ops workflows.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement robust data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for collecting and processing complex financial data
• Build and operate ML Ops infrastructure for training, deployment, and monitoring of ML models
• Work alongside the ML lead to accelerate the journey from model research to production
• Ensure the data platform is scalable, reliable, and easy to maintain
• Play a critical role in shaping the company's technical direction and culture

Who You Are

• Experienced Data Engineer or ML Engineer who has worked in production environments
• Strong in Python and SQL, with familiarity in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks like Airflow, Prefect, or Luigi
• Familiarity with ML Ops tools like MLflow, SageMaker, or Kubeflow
• Bonus: experience working with financial data or in regulated environments
