Cyber Security Engineer

Mertens - MalamTeam is hiring a skilled Cybersecurity Implementation Specialist to join a major defense organization in Northern Israel.

Role Overview

This position involves planning, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity systems across complex IT networks. You will be responsible for hardening operating systems and network equipment, writing security policies tailored to project requirements, and ensuring alignment with standards and best practices. The role includes close collaboration with IT, communication, and application teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions across organizational networks.
• Execute system hardening processes and write security policies based on project defense requirements and best practices.
• Coordinate with IT, communication, and application teams to ensure secure infrastructure.
• Harden Windows/Linux operating systems and network equipment including switches, software, and modems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in designing, operating, and managing complex IT networks.
• 2+ years of experience implementing cybersecurity tools in large-scale IT environments, including EDR, DLP, AV, WAF, FW, data sanitization systems, SIEM, TAPS, privileged access management, vaults, etc.
• Full proficiency in IT infrastructure in Windows/Linux environments, including Active Directory, operating systems, server hardware, communication components, virtualization, and cybersecurity systems.
• Strong knowledge of network systems including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Experience in hardening operating systems and network equipment.
• Proficiency in English.
