Role Description

The Field Application Engineer is responsible for UAV field testing, integration, and system validation of Sightec’s visual autonomy and navigation solutions.

The role combines hands-on drone operation with system-level testing, working closely with software and algorithm teams as well as customers during on-site integrations and client demonstrations.

We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty, and who enjoys tackling practical challenges in the lab and in the field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document drone flight tests and field experiments.
• Lead system integration and validation of new software and hardware versions.
• Support live demonstrations and customer evaluations.
• Monitor, log, and analyze system behavior during and after flights.
• Provide technical feedback and recommendations to R&D teams.
• Assist in test design and automation tools for field validation.q

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in drone operation (must).
• Experience with UAV systems, flight controllers, and mission software

(Advantage- e.g., ArduPilot, PX4, QGC, Mission-Planer).

• Technical background in software or hardware integration.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field and report results clearly.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
