What You'll Do
Management of a valuation department consisting of two professional teams:
- A team specializing in valuations for various purposes, including 409A compliance, financial reporting, and other business needs.
- A team specializing in accounting calculations for expense recognition related to employee stock
options for financial reporting purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of the department, including professional and personal guidance for team leaders and staff.
- Planning and managing workloads, task allocation, and leading process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Quality control of financial and economic deliverables, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and adherence to deadlines.
- Direct communication with clients, as well as auditors, legal advisors, and other stakeholders.
- Development and implementation of work methodologies, economic models, and professional tools.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving for complex professional issues, tailored to evolving client needs and business scenarios.
- Support for sales processes, including pricing proposals and presenting the company’s services to potential clients.
- Support for collection processes, including tracking payments and ongoing coordination with the billing department.
- Ongoing collaboration with internal interfaces and department across the company to ensure smooth workflows and alignment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, or Accounting – required.
- At least 5 years of experience in performing valuations – required.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with economic models such as OPM and DCF – required.
- Previous experience in a valuation department at one of the Big Four firms – significant advantage.
- Prior managerial experience – advantage.
- Ability to work independently, strong analytical thinking, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, multi-client environment.
