Summary
This position is responsible for performing, coordinating, maintaining, and improving all technical purchasing activities and transactions, as well as import and export processes and documentation.
This position plays a key role in ensuring SMARTECH has sufficient inventory for systems and spare parts, as well as serving as the interface with relevant suppliers and internal functions.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead technical purchasing that includes finding new parts and suppliers according to given specifications and negotiating with suppliers.
- Serve as the liaison between engineering on parts definition and manufacturing, ensuring on-schedule parts delivery.
- Manage parts cost reduction initiatives and find secondary sources for suppliers.
- Track the entire purchasing loop: From quotation collection, PO preparation and sending, to receiving and inspecting goods, and coordinating customer shipments.
- Responsible for production parts availability according to production schedule.
- Responsible for spare parts availability according to defined stock quantities per installed systems.
- Maintain all equipment, components, and parts inventory for new and installed systems, and all other inventory such as R&D, LAB, etc., including inventory counts and interface with the finance team.
- Lead Import and Export processes and documentation from Smartech suppliers and customers (sea and air transportation).
- Handle returns to vendors and repairs.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
Education And Experience
- Over 8 years of experience in purchasing and logistic activities.
- Practical, proven experience in purchasing and material processes.
- Practical, proven experience in import/export processes.
- Practical, proven experience in inventory and warehouse management.
Other Skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Negotiation skills.
- Highly organized, with strong problem resolution skills.
- Strong communication at all levels, internal and external interfaces (mainly suppliers).
- Strong computer systems skills (Priority, Excel, Word).
- High integrity, and strong engagement to the company.
- Self-managed, detail-oriented, service-minded personality.
- Fluent Hebrew and English.
