Back End Team Lead

We are looking for an experienced Backend Team Leader to Lead and mentor a team of highly talented and independent Python developers in a rapidly changing, zero-downtime environment where code is deployed multiple times a day.

In this role, you will lead all team’s activities, including new feature development, automation, testing and bugs management. You will have full responsibility for developing features end-to-end while planning the team’s iterations in an Agile environment including development, testing and deployment. We practice continuous deployment, code reviews and we automate everything in order to achieve speed, quality, and avoid repetitive tasks.

Job requirements

• At least 4 years experience managing a team and leading projects hands-on from start to finish
• Experience building web applications from scratch in a production environment
• 5+ years of experience building robust, backend applications in production environments.
• Deep knowledge of message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar) event-driven architectures.
• Strong grasp of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and practical data modeling.
• A self-starter mentality with a passion for quality and ownership—from idea to production.
• comfortable leveraging AI coding tools to boost productivity, explore solutions faster, and enhance code quality without compromising craftsmanship.

Bonus Points

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Java, or C#—especially around performance optimization and async design patterns.
• Experience with Redis (for caching, pub/sub, and distributed locks).
• Cloud-native experience with AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
• A background in high-scale systems handling millions of requests/day in low-latency environments.
• Experience in sports betting, real-time streaming, or marketplace platforms.
