Software Engineer

Job Description Summary

GE HealthCare Haifa Ultrasound group is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our Install Base (IB) team. In this role, you will contribute to maintaining and enhancing existing ultrasound systems used by healthcare professionals worldwide. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a highly regulated, mission-critical domain while working with experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Develop, maintain, and improve software for existing ultrasound products.
• Implement bug fixes, performance improvements, and minor feature enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Learn and apply best practices in software engineering and medical device development.
  
  

Mandatory Skills And Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or Software Engineering from a well-regarded institution.
• 0–5 years of experience in software development.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or C#.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  
  

Bonus Skills (Nice To Have)

• Experience with Windows development and multithreaded programming.
• Familiarity with WPF or other UI frameworks.
• Knowledge of medical imaging standards (DICOM, HL7).
• Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
