About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Controller to join our finance team and take ownership of the company’s accounting operations and policies. This is a critical role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is eager to help scale our finance infrastructure while ensuring operational excellence.

In the early phase, the Controller will be deeply involved in day-to-day accounting execution and financial process development. As the company grows, the role will evolve to include strategic leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

●      Own and lead the periodic close process (monthly, quarterly, and annual), which covers:

o  Delivery of accurate, complete, and timely financial statements

o  Ownership of all three financial statements - P&L, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet

o  Multicurrency consolidations and intercompany

o  Accruals, prepaids, and reconciliations

o  Revenue recognition under ASC 606

o  Journal entry preparation and review (as needed)

●      Provide expert oversight of journal entries: while not entering them day to day, the Controller must fully understand how they should be recorded, be able to correct errors independently, and proactively guide the external accounting firm when needed

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel or Cambridge, MA (Hybrid – 3 -4 days/week in office depending on location)

●      Develop and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance processes

●      Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS

●      Oversee payroll, VAT, tax filings (Israel and US), and regulatory reporting

●      Lead ERP implementation: from scoping and configuration to testing, migration, and go-live

●      Manage relationships with external accounting providers and auditors

●      Report to and partner with the Head of Finance on budgeting, cash forecasting (CF FCST), board reporting, and preparation of investor materials

●      Monitor and optimize cash flow, working capital, and accounting-related KPIs

●      Contribute to finance and systems projects as the company scales, ensuring scalability and automation

Requirements

Must-Have:

●      Proven experience in a startup or rapidly scaling organization, preferably backed by VC/ private equity

●      A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience serving as a Controller

●      Experience working at Israeli companies and familiarity with the Israeli market, including compliance with National Insurance, Income Tax Authority, Pension Funds, and VAT.

●      Track record of managing complete, end-to-end financial close cycles with accuracy and efficiency

●      In-depth technical knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards

●      Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification from the United States or Israel

Preferred Qualifications:

●      ERP system implementation experience

●      Background in SaaS or software-related industries

●      Advanced Excel skills and comfort with analytical tools

●      Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams

Location & Work Authorization

This role can be based in Tel Aviv, Israel, or Cambridge, MA.

Visa Requirements: For candidates applying to the Cambridge office, a valid long-term (+2 years!) U.S. work permit or existing work authorization is required.
