Senior Data Analyst - Israel

Sefaria, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building the future of Torah in an open and participatory way, seeks a Senior Data Analyst to surface insights, track performance, and help shape how we measure and define success across our web, mobile, and emerging platforms.

Position Overview

The Senior Data Analyst is a member of the product team responsible for driving data-informed decision-making across our organization. This versatile role combines Product and Business Analytics, helping our team mature into a truly data-driven organization. This role requires someone who can translate complex data into clear recommendations across multiple business functions while understanding the unique mission and user base of a digital Jewish learning platform. The Senior Data Analyst will define what we measure and how we use insights to optimize user experiences and achieve our mission.

This is a full-time, remote role based in Israel reporting to the Israel-based Senior Product Manager. You must be based in Israel and available for occasional in-person meetings in Jerusalem and/or Tel Aviv. This role will need to work in the evening (Israel time) 2-3 days per week to sufficiently overlap with colleagues in the US.

In This Position, You Will Do The Following

• Partner with leadership to define organizational data collection and reporting strategies
• Analyze user behavior to drive product optimization and establish meaningful KPIs
• Support cross-functional teams (Content, Fundraising, and Marketing) with analytics for marketing campaigns, fundraising flows, and operational processes. This will require familiarity with their platforms (Google Analytics, Salesforce, ActiveCampaign, etc.)
• Help the organization mature its data practices and embed insights into decision-making processes
• Integrate data across multiple platforms to create comprehensive organizational dashboards
• Conduct A/B testing in collaboration with cross-functional teams and analyze results
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience, Qualifications, And Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data collection and analysis in digital products, preferably in nonprofit organizations
• Experience with or demonstrated ability to quickly learn data visualization and analytics platforms like GA4, BigQuery, Tableau, and similar tools
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for querying, data manipulation, statistical analysis, and automation, preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate business questions into actionable insights.
• Technical fluency in data integration and a track record of making heterogeneous systems work together.
• Ability to query and prepare raw data for analysis
• Successful experience translating data into strategic insights that guide decision-making
• Fluency in English and Hebrew
  
  

Compensation

• 25,000 - 28,000 ILS/month.
• Generous paid time off, including: 15 vacation days; 18 sick days; approximately 16 Jewish holidays, and full closure for Passover.
• Standard Israeli taxes and benefits plus Keren Hishtalmut.
• Home utility reimbursements.
• Fully paid parental leave ranging from 8 to 13 weeks, depending on circumstances.
  
  

Location

This position can be based anywhere in Israel. You must be able to meet periodically at the Sefaria office.
