Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced FX Trader (AVP/VP level) to manage the firm's proprietary risk and to drive client risk optimization across global currency markets. This is a key hire in a fast‑growing, entrepreneurial environment, offering responsibility for managing internal risk exposures alongside developing sophisticated hedging and risk management solutions for clients. Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of managing the company's proprietary FX positions, including spot, forwards, and swaps, within assigned limits.
• Partner with clients to assess their FX exposures and design customized risk optimization strategies that align with their business models and risk appetites.
• Generate and execute differentiated trading strategies to capture alpha and enhance portfolio returns.
• Identify market trends and opportunities to develop and implement tailored hedging strategies that align with clients' specific business objectives and risk management needs.
• Proactively identify market opportunities across G10 and EM currencies, balancing short‑term tactical trades with longer‑term thematic views for both proprietary and client portfolios.
• Apply entrepreneurial and creative thinking to capture edge, challenge consensus views, and deliver new sources of value.
• Analyse economic indicators, regulatory environments, and macro developments to anticipate shifts impacting FX markets.
• Collaborate closely with senior management on capital allocation, desk strategy, and scaling trading activities.
• Play a role in shaping execution tools, analytics, and process improvements as the trading operation grows.
• Mentor and guide more junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation, discipline, and growth.
• Maintain governance, accurate trade booking, and adherence to compliance standards in line with evolving regulations.

Requirements

• 5–8 years' experience in FX trading, with proprietary, hedge fund, bank, or asset management desk backgrounds.
• Demonstrable track record in both risk‑taking for proprietary trading and delivering client-focused risk management solutions.
• Deep knowledge of FX markets across spot, forwards, and swaps, with exposure to both G10 and EM.
• Experience structuring hedging programs and risk optimization strategies for corporate or institutional clients.
• Strong understanding of regulatory environments (e.g. MiFID II, Basel standards) and ability to navigate changes.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, coupled with creative problem‑solving and entrepreneurial drive.
• Comfortable in a start‑up culture: adaptable, resourceful, and proactive in taking ownership beyond defined duties.
• Resilience under market pressure and ability to make high‑quality decisions at speed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
• Programming/data skills (Python, R, SQL, VBA) to build or enhance trading tools-Optional
• Network with LPs, brokers, and liquidity providers advantageous.
• Experience leading or mentoring traders- desirable.
