About CoolVOC

CoolVOC is a climate-tech startup developing next-generation systems for VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) capture and neutralization from industrial emissions.

Our patented process combines thermodynamic cycling and gas-phase adsorption to achieve high-efficiency abatement with minimal energy input.

We are now transitioning from lab prototype to pilot phase and scaling toward industrial deployment at customers.

What You’ll Do

• Take a highly hands-on role in building, operating, and maintaining experimental and pilot-scale systems. Assemble and modify system components, connect electrical and flow lines, troubleshoot leaks and malfunctions, and ensure stable operation through repeated heating and cooling cycles.
• Analyze system performance — adsorption capacity, ΔP, thermal efficiency, and regeneration kinetics.
• Plan and execute lab and pilot-scale experiments, focusing on adsorption/desorption cycles, regeneration, and process stability.
• Perform mass and energy balances across system components (gas loops, heat exchangers, compressors, adsorbent beds).
• Support process scale-up, instrumentation, and data acquisition from pilot units.
• Contribute to SOPs, documentation, and IP development.

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. (with experience) in Chemical Engineering or Experienced Chemical Engineering Technician
• Experience in process scale-up or pilot plant operations.
• Solid understanding of adsorption, desorption, and thermodynamic processes.
• Hands-on experience with gas-phase systems (adsorption beds, gas loops, heat exchangers, compressors, flow measurement). Familiar with BSP/NPT fittings, tubing, valves, and lab assembly work; knows how to build and troubleshoot experimental setups.
• Experience with data analysis in MATLAB or Python.
• Comfortable with instrumentation and sensors (temperature, pressure, flow).
• Excellent technical communication skills in English.

Bonus Points

• Experience with VOCs abatement, zeolites, MOFs, or porous materials.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks or process flow diagram software.
• Experience using DoE, regression, or statistical modeling tools.
