As a Breeding Assistant in the R&D unit of Hazera, you will work closely with the Breeder and gain exposure to various markets, commercial perspectives, and decision-making processes. You will also learn to manage extensive cross-functional interfaces within a large global organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement breeding programs, including sowing, planting, and laboratory tests
- Support field observations and selections both locally and internationally
- Train and supervise technicians and seasonal workers
- Responsibility for all breeding support activities
- Collaborate with local farmers and growers
- Document, report, and monitor plant development in breeding plots
- Track pollination team activities and perform pollinations in special programs
- Maintain breeding software systems (field lists, lab tests, seed inventory, etc.)
- Coordinate with company laboratories and monitor test results
- Working hours: 06:00 – 15:00
Requirement
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Agriculture or Life Science
- Valid driver’s license – mandatory
- High level of English – mandatory
- Background in genetics, molecular biology, and plant physiology – advantage
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical programming – an advantage
- Motivation for a role combining fieldwork with office tasks
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Office applications
- Willingness to travel abroad 2–3 times per year
