Technical Writer

National Retail Solutions (NRS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of IDT Corporation, is revolutionizing the independent-retail landscape. We equip more than 30,000 stores across the U.S. with cost-effective, state-of-the-art point-of-sale (POS) systems and complementary services - mobile apps for store management and consumer ordering, web storefronts, loyalty programs, and more - so that small retailers can compete with large chains and online marketplaces.

Our development team is seeking a well-rounded, experienced Technical Writer to craft clear, audience-appropriate content for stakeholders ranging from developers to end users, trainers, and marketing teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Native-level English speaker/writer with a clear, lucid writing style and the ability to present the same topic at multiple levels of depth - from concise end-user how-tos to developer deep dives.
• 3 - 5 years of technical writing experience.
• Tech-savvy; understands what goes into building, shipping, and supporting software products.
• Proven talent for explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to create release notes in different variations to different audiences including customer facing release notes  
• Solid grasp of user workflows within software applications; able to map real-world tasks and pain points to documentation needs.
• Demonstrated ability to set and manage personal deliverable schedules and work independently.
• Effective both independently and collaboratively, with a professional communication style suited to clients, managers, and colleagues alike.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) as the primary authoring environment - able to leverage advanced Google Workspace features, templates, and collaboration tools to produce polished documentation.
• Utilizing AI technology to improve the efficiency of technical writing processes.

What You Will Be Doing

• Documenting and publishing all the company release notes with the help of the product and development teams
• Partner with developers and product managers to capture new features, APIs, and workflows as they evolve.
• Define and maintain an information architecture that unifies all product documentation - developer guides, release notes, FAQs, training handbooks, marketing briefs, and more.
• Use Google Shared Drives and Google Workspace features to organize and produce content efficiently.
• Produce role-specific deliverables, including:

-- Marketing feature descriptions and one-pagers

-- Sales and training summaries

-- End-user FAQs and step-by-step how-to guides

-- Short release-note blurbs spotlighting new capabilities

-- Detailed, Swagger-backed API reference and integration guides

• As a background task, document the technical implementation of key system features for internal engineering and support teams.

Nice-to-Haves

• Actual programming and/or systems-analysis experience is a significant plus.
• Hands-on experience documenting REST APIs with Swagger.
• Working knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience creating multimedia assets (screenshots, GIFs, short walkthrough videos).

Hybrid Remote / Jerusalem, Israel (periodic in-office collaboration required)
