Head of Software Engineering

We are looking for a Head of Software Engineering to lead our growing software organization across multiple in-house and partner teams, shaping the architecture, practices, and innovation that power our edge-AI systems.

Zimark are building Frictionless Logistics. We’re taking an old-fashioned, outdated industry, and solving day-to-day friction points that cause supply-chains to grind to a halt, using smart cameras, edge computing, and AI. We’re giving warehouses something they’ve never had before: complete visibility, in real time. We’re growing fast, backed by Zim, and we’re based in Haifa, 5 minutes from the beach and train station.

What you'll do

• Lead all software development activities across several teams (internal and external), ensuring alignment, velocity, innovation and technical excellence.
• Define and own the software architecture, from embedded edge systems on NVIDIA Jetson and DeepStream to backend and analytics services.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers in C++, Python, and cloud-native development.
• Establish and enforce development standards — including code reviews, version control strategy, CI/CD, and deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with QA and Product teams to ensure quality, testing automation, and seamless delivery into production environments.
• Drive innovation and scalability in computer-vision pipelines, machine-learning inference, and integration with real-world hardware.
• Act as a hands-on leader, able to dive into design and problem-solving while managing and inspiring multidisciplinary teams.

What You Bring

• Proven experience (7+ years) in software development with 3+ years in a leadership or architecture role.
• Strong knowledge of C++ and Python; understanding of distributed and multi-component systems.
• Background in real-time or machine-vision applications (DeepStream, OpenCV, TensorRT, or similar) is a major advantage.
• Experience leading multi-team environments - including offshore or partner R&D units.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, version control (Git), automated testing, and agile methodologies.
• Ability to communicate clearly across R&D, QA, and Product functions, setting priorities and aligning execution.
• A strategic mindset with a hands-on, pragmatic approach to getting things done.
