Description:

We’re developing GYMing — a next-generation social fitness app that connects workouts, social interactions, and trainer content into one engaging experience.

We’re looking for a freelance backend developer (project-based contract) to take ownership of developing new social features — including the feed, stories, user interactions, and content libraries.

🔧 Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate backend logic for the social feed and stories system.

• Implement personalized recommendations (e.g., trending workouts, people you may know, top-rated sessions, and groups to join).

• Build infrastructure for user-generated content — posts, likes, comments, and trainer video libraries.

• Collaborate closely with the frontend team (Vue.js/TypeScript) to design scalable APIs.

• Work within our existing AWS-based environment, with a codebase of ~90% TypeScript and ~10% HCL (Terraform).

💡 Requirements

• Proven experience in TypeScript backend development (Node.js, Nest.js or similar).

• Familiarity with HCL / Terraform for infrastructure as code.

• Experience designing RESTful APIs and data models for social or content-driven apps.

• Knowledge of MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.

• Independent, detail-oriented, and comfortable working toward clear milestones.
