Mechanical Drafter

Job Summary

We are looking for a Cable Design Drafter experienced or interested in high-speed interconnects to create precise cable and harness drawings supporting complex electronic systems.

The candidate will collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and signal-integrity engineers to generate accurate documentation and routing data for cables.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D cable and harness drawings for high-speed digital systems.
• Define pin assignments, cable breakouts, and connector configurations based on electrical and mechanical constraints.
• Work with SI and EE teams to implement controlled-impedance and matched-length requirements in the drawings.
• Prepare BOMs, labels, assembly instructions, and test documentation for manufacturing.
• Maintain revision control and documentation in the company’s PLM/PDM system.
• Support prototype and validation builds, including troubleshooting of cable-related issues.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL, internal company specs).

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or equivalent experience in electrical drafting or mechanical design.
• Proficiency with Creo – Must.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems – advantage.
• Understanding of high-speed signal routing, pair matching, and impedance control principles - advantage
