Lab manager

A new lab at the Faculty of Life Sciences, Bar-Ilan University, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lab Manager to join the founding team.

The lab studies how dietary phytochemicals interact with the gut microbiome and the host, aiming to discover novel metabolites and define their roles in health and disease. Our core methodology integrates mouse models with state-of-the-art HPLC and high-resolution LC-MS.

Responsibilities

Immediate

• Play a central role in establishing the new laboratory: infrastructure, equipment purchasing/installation, lab space organization, and safety compliance

Long-term

• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations and experimental workflows
• Help with budget management
• Coordinate with university facilities, suppliers, and collaborators
• Assist in grant and manuscript preparation
• Pursue a research project within the scope of the lab’s focus

Qualifications

Prerequisite

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
• High motivation, independence, and dedication to building a cutting-edge research environment

Strong Advantage

• Previous experience in:
• Laboratory management
• Metabolomics/analytical chemistry
• Working with mice
