Position Overview

Backline is seeking a skilled Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our team and take ownership of building robust, user-centric web applications and the scalable backend services & AI Agents that power them. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative B2B environment and is ready to lead development initiatives across the entire stack, while working closely with product and design teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and own scalable backend services in Go to power our web applications.
• Design and implement secure, high-performance RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into full-stack technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, responsive frontend applications using React.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Tackle tough problems and design creative solutions to solve them.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high coding standards across the entire codebase.
• Optimize application performance for both frontend and backend systems.
• Take ownership of technical debt management and architecture decisions for new features.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on, end-to-end software development experience.
• Strong backend development experience in Go, or a similar language such as C#, Java, or Python.
• Deep understanding of backend concepts including API design, data modeling, authentication, authorization, and caching.
• Hands-on experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Proven experience building and maintaining web applications using React.
• Modern JavaScript/TypeScript expertise with ES6+ features and type-safe development.
• Strong CSS and Tailwind CSS proficiency including responsive design and modern CSS features.
• Testing experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Clear communication, product mindset, and ability to partner with cross-functional teams in a startup environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - or equivalent practical experience.

Advantages

• Background in cybersecurity, or network/cloud security products.
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with monorepo tools like NX, Lerna, or similar.
• Basic DevOps knowledge, including CI/CD and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proven 0→1 experience in an early-stage startup.
• Experience integrating AI technologies into applications.
