Position Overview/Duties

• Perform supervisory duties such as: assign work, overseeing performance, and making personnel decisions.
• Develop long-range plans and goals through subordinate supervisors and staff.
• Advise the Chief Construction Branch of the Area Office's work relationship to District Programs.
• Confer with other Area Engineers, Division Chief, and other elements of the District to negotiate and/or coordinate work-related changes.
• Solve differences and controversies and recommends solutions to problems encountered, reviews as-built drawings, checks and approves samples of material and equipment, etc.
• Provide the field construction operations within the geographic area of the Area Office.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• One year trial/probationary period may be required. Supervisory probationary period may be required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis.
• This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain an official US passport and VISA as applicable based on duty location.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• The incumbent is required to perform the duties and requirements of the position in the event of a crisis until relieved by proper authority. Essential Position Agreement, DD Form 2365, must be completed prior to deployment.
• A valid driver's license is required for this position.
• Due to the conditions of this position, you must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively as a part of the daily duties of this position.
• Successful completion of a pre-placement physical examination is required.This position requires you to satisfactorily complete a medical examination for deployment.
• This position is subject to immunizations/vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO) authority highly encouraged or able to complete.
• Professional Engineering licensure or Architect Licensure required.
