Lead Systems Engineer

Lead Systems Engineer | Central District, Israel | Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI)

The Missile and Space Systems Division is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to manage the engineering aspects of a cutting-edge naval air defense system project for international clients.

The position includes:

• Leading the engineering efforts for the development and delivery of a prototype naval air defense system

• Managing multidisciplinary engineering activities in collaboration with leading companies such as ELTA, Rafael, and MLM, as well as with internal engineering teams

• Engineering oversight of the project and coordination of technical interfaces with the client

• Preparing system requirement documents derived from contractual agreements

• Defining the system architecture and core components (System of Systems)

• Writing primary system specifications

• Leading development, integration, and system validation processes

• Integrating the system with advanced ship-based platforms supplied by global defense industries

• Matrix management of systems engineers within the division and coordination with subcontractor engineering teams

• Leading system performance analysis and development and acceptance testing, both in Israel and abroad

• Working closely with domestic and international clients and subcontractors

• Participating in sea trials aboard ships equipped with the system

What we’re looking for:

• BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Aeronautics, or Mechanical Engineering – required

• MSc in Systems Engineering – an advantage

• At least 3 years of experience in systems engineering for complex development projects (System of Systems) – required

• Proven ability to manage and oversee engineering teams in a matrix environment – required

• Hands-on experience writing technical documents and conducting performance analysis – required

• Familiarity with weapon systems, missile systems, or air defense systems – strong advantage

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in Hebrew and English – required

• Willingness to travel abroad – required
