R&D Team Leader

We are seeking a Software Team Lead to guide and grow our engineering team as we design and build innovative AI-powered products. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of developers, driving the design and implementation of scalable end-to-end systems, intuitive frontend applications, and seamless integrations with advanced AI models. You will set the technical direction, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery of high-quality, production-ready solutions.

You have a proven ability to manage teams & projects end-to-end, from concept through delivery. You bring hands-on expertise across frontend and backend development, and you are excited about leveraging AI coding tools (such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot) to accelerate productivity and innovation.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Mentor: Manage a team of 2 full-stack software engineers while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Architecture & Design: Define & oversee the design of scalable, secure, and maintainable systems across backend services, APIs, and frontend applications.
• Hands-On Development: Contribute to coding, code reviews, and technical designs.
• AI Integration: Collaborate with Data Science and ML teams to integrate AI/ML models into production systems and user interfaces.
• Product Ownership: Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical plans and deliverables, and constantly improve user experience.
• AI Coding Tools Leadership: Drive adoption of AI-powered coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to improve developer efficiency and code quality.
• DevOps & Quality: Oversee best practices in CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and deployment, ensuring high system reliability

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (MSc is an advantage).
• 5+ years of software development experience, including:
• Backend development with Python (Flask, FastAPI, or similar).
• Frontend development with React (or equivalent modern frameworks).
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL) and designing data-driven applications.
• 2 years of experience leading software engineering teams
• Experience designing and delivering production-grade systems in a cloud environment (AWS advantage).
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture, microservices, and API design.
• Practical experience with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, etc.).
• Experience with Redis or similar caching frameworks.
• Familiarity with ML model integration and/or working with Data Science teams.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
