A Startup Company in the field of critical infrastructure monitoring has developed a system based on optical fibers that transform into a nationwide sensor network for fault detection, environmental alerts, and power grid management.

The company has raised around $50M and serves customers in Israel and the U.S., including the New York Power Authority and the Israel Electric Corporation.

Headquartered in Tel Aviv next to a train station, the company employs about 100 people and offers a hybrid model with one day per week from home.

Role overview-

• Join the Algorithms team of 15 researchers and engineers.
• Focus on developing wind prediction models and Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) for power lines, enabling renewable energy integration into power grids.
• Research and develop Machine Learning and Signal Processing models.
• Work with raw sensor data and extract environmental parameters (wind, temperature, mechanical deformations) from real-time signal analysis.
• Write production-level code and take end-to-end responsibility for critical algorithmic pipelines.
• Collaborate with academic research groups and international customers.
• Apply theoretical research into real-time systems.
• Work with technologies such as Python, Time-Series analysis, Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Production Pipelines, Low-level sensor data, DSP, and Physics-based Modeling.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist – must
• Relevant Master’s degree – must
• Strong background in Machine Learning – must
• Experience in Physics, Optical Fibers, or Signal Processing – must
• Proven experience working with real-world, low-level data (e.g., sensor data, medical data, agricultural data, defense industry data, audio/video streams, or medical imaging) – must
• Hands-on experience in deploying models to Production – must
• Knowledge in DSP – advantage
