BMC is looking for a Java Backend Tech Lead to join our amazing Agent team in Tel Aviv!

In this role, you will:

• Lead the design and architecture of an industry-leading product, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Provide technical leadership to a team of developers — guiding design reviews, code quality, and best practices.
• Design and develop critical features using Java, Microservices, SpringBoot, AWS and other advanced technologies
• Drive technical decision-making by investigating and evaluating new technologies/tools.
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering growth and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Take part in troubleshooting complex production and development issues, providing guidance and solutions.

What we are looking for:

• 7+ years of solid hands-on Java development experience, with at least 2+ years in a lead/architectural role.
• Extensive background in backend server development on Linux/Unix environments.
• Proven experience in designing large-scale, distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with multi-threaded server-side applications.
• Deep knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, and open-source frameworks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Passion for technology, self-learning, and driving innovation.
• Proficiency in both Hebrew and English.

It would be an advantage if you have:

• Experience leading teams in the development of cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience driving the transition of products to SaaS architecture.
• Hands-on background with Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes.
• Experience with C/C++ development for performance-critical components.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent.
