Research and Development Group Manager

A global Cybersecurity leader in applications security with a client base that includes Fortune 500 companies is seeking a strong R&D Group Manager.

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate and charismatic engineering leader who loves building and scaling teams and is motivated by driving technical change.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a group of ~20 engineers through 3 team leads (Full Stack, Backend, Platform).
• Take ownership of a newly restructured R&D group, building processes, culture, and long-term strategy.
• Drive the development of large-scale microservices in a challenging, dynamic environment.
• Guide technical excellence through architecture, design reviews, and hands-on involvement.
• Collaborate closely with product, security, and executive leadership to influence the roadmap and strategy.
• Shape a new engineering culture – improving velocity, ownership, and creativity across teams.
• Act as a key player in scaling the organization, balancing execution with long-term growth and innovation.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of proven leadership experience managing engineering managers/team leads – must
• 7+ years of hands-on software development or architecture background – must
• Startup experience – someone who has led growth and scaling in dynamic environments – must
• Strong charisma, passion for leadership, and ability to inspire and influence others
• Deep expertise in SaaS systems and microservices (AWS or equivalent cloud)
• Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking
• Experience in cybersecurity – a strong advantage
• Excellent communication skills in English
