R&D Team Lead

As part of our R&D Engineering team, you will work closely with our Quality and Manufacturing teams to develop the latest tools and technologies to address significant, unmet clinical needs that impact patients’ lives around the world.

Edwards Lifesciences is looking for an R&D Engineering Manager to join our Innovation Center in Caesarea, Israel.

To lead a team of engineers to design a heart valve dedicated to be delivered to the mitral or tricuspid valves via transcatheter approach.

In this role you will lead design, analysis and testing efforts to mature concepts and bring products to design transfer stage.

This is a unique position which allows to influence future designs and bring innovation into Edwards portfolio.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Manage a small team of engineers (3-5 people).
• Lead design projects from early-stage feasibility till design transfer.
• Perform R&D feasibility testing and design verification testing.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams (pilot manufacturing, testing, clinical development, quality).
• Develop testing models to prove design theories and validate them.
• Lead proof of concept development work including animal trials, in-vitro testing and supporting analyses.
• Develop and mentor the valve team members.
  
  

• B.Sc. in mechanical engineering.
• At least 7 years of experience in R&D.
  
  

• Analytical thinking and good planning abilities.
• Managerial experience of R&D/engineering teams/ project management and technical leadership.
• Strong knowledge in solid mechanics and fluid dynamics.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as Abaqus or equivalent
• Proven ability in project planning
