Computer-Aided Drug Design Researcher

Evogene (NASDAQ: EVGN, TASE: EVGN.TA), a leading biotechnology company specializing in the development of novel life science products through a unique computational platform, is seeking a qualified researcher in the field of computer-aided drug design.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in working with a multidisciplinary team comprised of experts in biology, chemistry, and AI.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Drive the design and optimization of novel drug candidates.

·        Apply expertise in computer aided drug design, computational chemistry, structural biology, and molecular modelling.

·        Involvement in development projects aimed at improving Evogene’s ChemPassAI engine.

·        Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of AI scientists, biologists and algorithm developers.

What We’re Looking For:

·        A candidate with an academic degree (MSc a must, PhD an advantage) in computational chemistry, structural biology, or a computer aided drug design (CADD) related field.

·        At least 3 years of prior industry experience - an advantage.

·        Proficiency in CADD, molecular modeling and simulation software tools. Knowledge in molecular dynamics and free energy simulations is a plus.

·        Strong experience in applying computational methods to early-stage small molecule drug discovery, utilizing a range of techniques such as virtual screening and SAR optimization.

·        Experience in applying machine learning algorithms and tools to biological sequences, protein structures, or small molecule design is a plus.

·        Knowledge of biochemical assays is a plus.

·        A strong passion for staying current with new tools and trends.

·        The ability to clearly present complex technical details and project information to both experts and non-experts.

·        Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities, coupled with a high level of independence.
