We are seeking a talented and passionate Acoustics and Audio Application Engineer to join our innovative team! This role combines the best of NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) engineering with active acoustics to create superior auditory experiences in automotive environments. You will play a crucial role in implementing and delivering cutting-edge noise reduction products and solutions to carline programs.

SILENTIUM is a world-class high-tech company specializing in developing innovative noise reduction products and solutions mainly for the automotive industries. As an NVH Engineer, you will focus on analyzing and optimizing the acoustical performance of vehicle systems.

Location: Detroit, North America. Some travel within North America and occasionally Europe/Middle East may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct NVH tuning testing and analysis on automotive components and audio systems.
• Apply SILENTIUM’s Active Acoustics technologies.
• Utilize advanced testing tools (e.g., microphones, accelerometers, sound level meters) to measure noise and vibration levels.
• Perform simulations and modelling to predict acoustic NVH behaviour in automotive cabins by implementing AA/ANC solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ANC and NVH-related issues during the vehicle development process.
• Responsible for car audio/infotainment vehicle integration into customer’s vehicle.
• Define/coordinate/implementing technical requests into technical requirement document.
• Prepare & present technical presentations of the performance of SILENTIUM’s Active Acoustics technologies into vehicle.
• Be the SILENTIUM “face” to the customer: addressing technical needs and promoting SILENTIUM Business.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve sound quality and reduce noise interference using Active Acoustics/ANC.
  
  

• Experience with automotive acoustics and sound quality testing.
• Proficiency in NVH measurement and analysis software (e.g., LMS, MATLAB, or similar).
• Familiarity with automotive audio systems and technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience with Noise, Vibration & Harshness Measurements- using NVH Data Acquisition Systems.
• Experience with Acoustics & Audio systems– understanding of loudspeaker and car audio systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Physics, Math, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, or a related field – a must. MSc in Acoustics -an advantage.
• Proven hands-on experience in system validation planning and system performance analysis in multi discipline system (HW, SW, Signal processing, and acoustics).
• Experience in the automotive industry (3 year minimum).
• Familiarity with active acoustics, active noise reduction/cancellation will be a plus
