Mechanical Team Leader – R&D Department

The Mechanical Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of mechanical engineers within the R&D department, focusing on the design and development of mechanical systems for advanced medical devices. This role combines hands-on engineering leadership with direct team management and cross-functional collaboration, from concept through design validation and transfer to production, while ensuring compliance with medical regulatory standards.
◾ Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, including task delegation, professional mentoring, and performance tracking.
• Drive mechanical design processes of medical devices and components such as mechanisms, enclosures, connectors, and subassemblies.
• Oversee design reviews, engineering testing, design verification and validation (V&V), and NPI (New Product Introduction) processes.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electronics, software, quality, and regulatory affairs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines (e.g., FDA, CE, ISO 13485).
• Perform engineering failure analysis (e.g., FMEA), plan and analyze experiments, and support problem-solving throughout the product lifecycle.
• Author and review engineering documents: specifications, drawings, manufacturing instructions, and assembly procedures.
• Interface with external vendors, manufacturers, and subcontractors during development and production stages.
• Support the professional growth of team members and promote continuous process improvement within the team.
Requirements:
• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering – mandatory;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical development for medical devices – required.
• At least 2 years of experience in team leadership or technical lead roles in complex projects.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD tool – mandatory.
• Proven experience in developing complex mechanical assemblies, including plastics, metals, actuators, seals, and tubing interfaces.
• Hands-on experience in NPI processes and creating documentation in compliance with medical quality standards.
• High-level proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
