Role Overview

Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. Based in Lagos, Nigeria, the CTO will oversee a team of approximately 30 employees and manage relationships with 10 vendors, both local and remote. The role requires a dynamic leader with a balance of hands-on technical expertise and strategic vision. The CTO will manage and optimize existing technologies while spearheading the development and implementation of new, transformative projects, the main focus of the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s technology roadmap, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term strategic goals.
• Lead a team of 30 employees, including technicians and engineers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and a results-driven culture.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with 10 vendors to ensure seamless project delivery and optimal resource utilization.
• Drive the design, development, and deployment of new projects, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and innovation.
• Oversee the integration and optimization of existing systems, including satellite communication, radars, and data centers.
• Serve as a hands-on technical leader, providing guidance and support to the team when necessary.
• Represent RTcom in technical discussions with stakeholders, partners, and clients to ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Ensure adherence to quality control, security, and risk management standards.
• Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.

Qualifications

• Education: Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 10+ years in senior technical roles, including at least 5 years in a leadership position (e.g., CTO, Senior Technology Manager, or Technical Director).
• Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and teams, with experience in satellite communication, data security, and advanced systems integration.
• Experience in Africa, particularly Nigeria, is a strong bonus.
• Skills:
• High-level proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong command of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and presentation skills.
• Exceptional leadership, team-building, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in dynamic environments and handle cross-cultural challenges effectively.

This role offers full relocation support and requires occasional domestic travel within Nigeria and international travel to collaborate with foreign vendors. Experience working in Africa, particularly in Nigeria, is a strong advantage.
