About Scala Biodesign
Scala is building an advanced protein design platform to transform the way proteins, the most fascinating molecules of living organisms, are developed into therapeutics, diagnostics, enzymes for sustainable chemistry, and more. The basis for Scala’s platform was developed at the Weizmann Institute of Science, with dozens of success stories including a malaria vaccine in phase II clinical trials, enzyme therapies and others. We are seeking a People Ops & Office Manager to join our Head of Operations and work closely with her on all ongoing company operations. This position is suited for a collaborative team player who thrives in handling cross‑functional responsibilities, combines curiosity and self‑motivation with a “get things done” approach, and has the versatility to manage multiple domains simultaneously.
The position
As People Ops & Office Manager you will manage end-to-end all the company's administrative needs and push forward multiple aspects of the company’s activities.
This position is hybrid, and our offices are located in Tel-Aviv.
Responsibilities
● Take full ownership of all office administration, including receiving deliveries, managing invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, organizing team travel (flights, hotels, rental cars, etc.), issuing invoices to customers, coordinating with cleaning services, and serving as the primary point of contact for all administrative matters in the office.
● Develop and execute Scala’s welfare plan: happy hours, events, gifts for employees, toasts, lectures, and other fun events.
● End-to-end responsibility for the recruitment & onboarding process.
● Manage and optimize workflows in CRM systems and oversee ongoing compliance processes for information security standards (ISO, SOC).
● Work with our customers’ procurement teams to ensure smooth and efficient onboarding to their systems.
Requirements
● 2+ years of previous experience in office management or operations in a start-up environment.
● Versatile generalist, curious to learn new roles and able to handle diverse tasks, adapt quickly and take ownership of various operational tasks as they arise.
● Highly organized, with acute attention to detail and a passion for maintaining a polished and professional office environment.
● Technically adept individual who can easily implement automations and develop tools to improve existing workflows - an advantage.
● B.A. in a relevant field.
