Data Engineer

Mertens - MalamTeam is looking for a Data Engineer to join a business-focused Data & Observability unit within a leading financial organization. This team supports the bank’s digital products, including mobile apps and web platforms, by designing and deploying scalable, maintainable data pipelines that enable efficient logging, error handling, and real-time data enrichment.

In this role, you will:

• Design and deploy large-scale data pipelines for real-time logging, systematic error handling, and data enrichment.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Application Developers, Architects, and Infrastructure teams to define effective monitoring models, map user journeys, and generate actionable business insights using observability tools like Splunk.
• Consume and design observability data to improve user experience and system insights.
• Ensure high performance, maintainability, and scalability of data solutions from implementation to production.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Splunk.
• Strong skills in SPL, data parsing, dashboard creation, macros, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with event-driven systems such as Kafka and REST APIs.
• Deep understanding of structured and semi-structured data (JSON, XML, Logs).
• Strong Python or Bash scripting skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes using tools like Git and Jenkins.
• Experience with data modeling, enrichment logic, and system integration.
• Ability to work independently and lead scalable, production-ready solutions.
