Software Engineer and Team Lead — Computer Vision & Algorithms

We are seeking a hands-on Team Lead to unify and steer a focused group responsible for Sodyo’s marker detection and recognition pipeline. This role requires balancing technical depth in computer vision with leadership, maintaining strong development practices, and ensuring the system consistently.

·      Ensure the marker detection system meets strict performance and availability requirements.

·      Lead and coordinate the vision & algorithms team: set priorities, track progress, review deliverables, and maintain accountability.

·      Be hands-on (≈50–70%): implement and optimise computer vision algorithms in C/C++, with Python for validation and tooling

·      Understand end-to-end computer vision applications: from RTSP input streams, decoding, batching, sub-frame analysis, marker detection/identification, to metadata generation and delivery.

·      Ensure quality software practices: enforce coding standards, repository discipline, CI/CD workflows, automated testing, and reproducibility.

·      Collaborate with senior optics/algorithm staff: fully understand their work, translate their research into usable software components, and ensure seamless integration with the runtime environment.

·      Support internal testing of the Sodyo blackbox service: build regression frameworks, stress tests, and validation pipelines before QA field trials.

·      Act as SPOC for leadership and partner teams: communicate risks, progress, KPIs, and ensure alignment between R&D and production goals.

·      Proven leadership of small technical teams, ideally in real-time CV or embedded systems.

·      Strong C/C++ development experience; ability to produce maintainable, efficient, and production-quality code.

·      Hands-on computer vision expertise: detection, tracking, feature recognition, calibration, performance optimisation.

·      Understanding of NVIDIA DeepStream and Triton: ability to oversee integration and ensure Sodyo algorithms operate reliably inside the runtime.

·      Track record of delivering against system KPIs: performance, availability, latency, and reliability in production environments.

·      Excellent communication and coordination skills, with ability to align diverse contributors under one clear direction.

·      CUDA or GPU acceleration experience.

·      Advanced OpenCV or fiducial/marker detection expertise.

·      Familiarity with optics, ISP tuning, or imaging pipelines.

·      Experience with automated benchmarking, regression frameworks, and dataset-driven validation.

·      Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and Jetson deployment.

·      Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

·      6+years in computer vision/software engineering, with 2+years in a leadership or tech-lead role.
