Team Lead Data Engineering

We are recruiting for a profitable, global Marketing Tech company, recognized as one of the 20 best companies to work for, with an international presence and a growing development team in Tel Aviv. This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who wants to lead a talented team while staying technically involved in challenging data projects.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and mentor a team of 5–8 backend/data engineers, guiding technical and architectural decisions.
• Design and develop highly scalable systems, including batch and real-time event processing.
• Take ownership of projects from planning to production and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, Customer Success, and other R&D teams to deliver business impact.
• Foster engineering excellence, knowledge sharing, and a culture of innovation within the team.

What we’re looking for:

• 4+ years in backend/data development, including large-scale systems.
• 1–3 years in technical leadership roles (Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, Staff Engineer).
• Proven experience in architecting large-scale, data-driven systems and/or large batch ETLs.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Python + at least one backend language (Java/.NET)
• SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehouses
• Data engineering frameworks: Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Snowflake, Databricks
• Designing contracts and cloud-based solutions
• Strong communication and mentoring skills, with a focus on actionable milestones.

Nice-to-have:

• Fluent English for working in a multi-language, international environment
• Experience with GCP deployment and management, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
