The Position

Veracyte is revolutionizing cancer diagnostics through advanced genomic technologies and data-driven innovation. Our Israel team plays a crucial role in developing scalable infrastructure to support AI-enabled insights across research and clinical applications.

We’re seeking a skilled Data Engineer to develop robust, scalable data infrastructure and integrate cutting-edge AI and agent-based technologies into our genomic data processes. You'll be a core contributor in designing and implementing cloud-based data pipelines, while embedding AI models and intelligent agent frameworks into our analytic workflows.

This role blends engineering excellence with innovation. You’ll collaborate closely with R&D, and data science teams to deliver high-quality, cloud-native analytics platforms that accelerate research and clinical impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build cloud-native data pipelines (AWS) for large-scale genomic analytics
• Integrate AI/ML models, agent-based tools, and MCP protocols into data workflows
• Automate and optimize CI/CD processes for research and production environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement robust data architectures
• Develop tools for data ingestion, transformation, and quality monitoring
• Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and compliance with regulatory standards
  
  

Who You Are

• 4+ years in data engineering or backend software engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent
• Technologically diverse background and ability/willingness to learn new things quickly
• Strong Python, SQL and Bash scripting skills
• Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Sagemaker)
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration
• Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of MCP (Model Context Protocol) and its role in AI system design
• Knowledge of data lake architecture, structured/unstructured data handling
• Familiarity with machine learning pipelines or MLOps frameworks
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and building ELT/ETL pipelines
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Background in biotech, healthcare, or regulated industries
• Experience with Apache Spark or distributed data processing
• Proven track record in deploying AI systems in production
