Senior Navigation Algorithms Engineer (SLAM & Path Planning)

One of our clients, an innovative deep-tech startup in the field of robotics and autonomous systems, is looking to hire a Navigation Engineer to join their R&D team. The company develops cutting-edge robotic platforms for inspection and maintenance in complex industrial environments. Their proprietary technology leverages advanced navigation, computer vision, and real-time control systems to operate autonomously in GPS-denied, harsh environments — such as maritime infrastructure, energy facilities, and other challenging terrains.

As a Navigation Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing the core algorithms and systems that drive the company’s autonomous capabilities. You will work on multidisciplinary challenges combining sensor fusion, SLAM, path planning, and control theory, integrating your solutions into real-time systems used in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop advanced navigation algorithms such as SLAM, Model Predictive Control (MPC), and path planning.
• Implement robust localization and trajectory estimation techniques in dynamic, unstructured environments.
• Integrate navigation modules with real-time perception and control systems.
• Analyze and fuse data from sensors such as LiDAR, cameras, IMU, and GNSS for reliable performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end autonomous navigation solutions.
• Conduct simulations and real-world testing to validate and optimize system performance.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience in the fields of robotics, autonomous systems, or navigation.
• Strong knowledge in SLAM, control theory, sensor fusion, and trajectory planning.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python with experience in real-time systems.
• Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and simulation environments such as Gazebo or CARLA.
