Role: Chief Operating Officer / Co-founder (Full time, remote)
I am looking for a driven COO / business co-founder to scale Coursim from pilot schools to nationwide adoption.
Responsibilities:
- Lead operations, finance and go-to-market execution
- Build and run school sales, onboarding, and customer success processes
- Create KPIs and dashboards for usage, retention, LTV and teacher impact
- Design pricing and packaging for K-12 and private school customers
- Run fundraising efforts: investor outreach, pitch decks, term negotiation and closing
- Hire and lead the non-engineering team (sales, customer success, ops)
- Coordinate strategy with the technical founder to prioritize product features that increase adoption and retention
Why this role matters:
You’ll turn Coursim’s technical advantages (AI personalization, teacher workflow automation, progress analytics) into repeatable revenue and measurable, real impact in classrooms on struggling students.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in raising capital (seed +) and closing investor rounds OR concrete relationships to education investors, VCs, or grant programs
- Demonstrated success in selling to schools or education procurement (districts, school chains, ministries) or strong enterprise / SaaS sales experience
- Strong operational skills: budgeting, forecasting, building dashboards, process design
- Leadership: hiring, mentoring, scaling small teams into predictable revenue engines
- Excellent communicator: investor pitches, contract negotiation, school stakeholders
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Passion for education and measurable student outcomes
Compensation:
- This is a co-founder position. Initial cash salary is minimal or nil. Compensation will be primarily equity until the company raises or generates steady revenue.
- Candidate must be able to lead and deliver early funding (seed or grants) within realistic timelines.
- Exact equity % and vesting to be negotiated based on experience, traction and fundraising commitments.
Nice-to-have:
- Previous edtech experience or connections to schools/district procurement channels
- Experience designing pricing tiers for schools and managing pilot to rollout cycles
- Background in data and analytics for education outcomes
First 90-day goals:
- Build a go-to-market plan and sales pipeline with at least 8 qualified school leads. (Calculated)
- Set up finance and KPI dashboards for monthly active teachers/students, retention, and LTV.
- Lead first fundraising outreach and secure investor or grant conversations.
