🌱 Head of Breeding – South District, Israel (3525)

A growing company in the agriculture sector is seeking a senior breeding professional to lead cutting-edge breeding programs and shape the next generation of high-performing varieties. This role combines scientific leadership with a strong commercial orientation, ensuring breeding activities are aligned with market needs.

What you’ll do:

Design and implement breeding strategies and pipelines.

Lead research projects, including lab and field trials, with a focus on data-driven decision making.

Recruit, manage, and mentor a professional team of breeders and technical staff.

Collaborate closely with R&D, operations, and commercial teams to deliver results.

Manage departmental resources, budgets, and reporting.

What we’re looking for:

PhD in Plant Breeding or Plant Genetics (required).

Proven experience in industrial F1 hybrid seeds breeding programs (required).

Strong leadership skills with experience in managing people and projects.

Excellent English, written and spoken.

Background in molecular breeding methods – an advantage.
