Head of R&D

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of R&D to act as the CTO’s right hand, owning day-to-day R&D operations and ensuring seamless execution of the technical roadmap. This is a strategic leadership role for a seasoned technology leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, capable of making key decisions, driving innovation, and scaling engineering teams.

• Execute Vision: Represent the CTO in all R&D matters, implementing and executing strategic technical initiatives.
• Operational Leadership: Oversee daily R&D operations with full decision-making authority aligned to CTO directives.
• Team Management: Build, lead, and scale engineering teams with ownership of hiring, mentoring, and organizational growth.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Drive alignment across QA, Development, DevOps, NOC, Innovation, and Product teams.
• Delivery Ownership: Ensure end-to-end ownership of the product development lifecycle and delivery commitments.
• Technical Leadership: Make informed architectural and technology choices within the CTO’s strategic framework.
• Stakeholder Management: Represent R&D in cross-functional meetings, ensuring alignment across technical and business functions.

• 10+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years in R&D leadership.
• Proven ability to operate autonomously while executing senior leadership vision.
• Strong expertise in backend/frontend technologies (PHP, JavaScript, SQL).
• Solid cloud architecture experience (AWS, Azure).
• Track record of sound technical decision-making and delivery ownership.
• Experience managing multiple interfaces and dependencies across technical teams.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automation tools.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and business alignment.
• Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory compliance.

• Experience in iGaming or other high-traffic B2B platforms.
• Expertise in data management and optimization (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis).
• Experience with modern PHP frameworks (Symfony, Laravel, Yii).
• Background in big data solutions and analytics.
