AI Research Engineer Role

As an AI Research Engineer, you'll be instrumental in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing AI solutions that power legal insights, automate data processing, and improve case management workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure our AI-driven features are innovative, reliable, and scalable in a high-impact domain.

Key Responsibilities  

• Design, deploy, and maintain critical AI solutions that drive legal insights
• Research and stay current with emerging AI technologies 
• Experiment with new AI approaches, validating them through POCs before scaling to production
• Drive scientific rigor, running controlled experiments, producing internal reports, and contributing to patents where relevant
• Continuously improve models for accuracy, scalability, and speed in real-world legal use cases, exploring new model architectures, training methods, and evaluation metrics
• Deploy an on-premises open source model, and train a model for the use of the company 
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and backend teams to deliver deployable, maintainable, and customer-focused AI solutions

What you Bring

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Proven expertise in building and deploying AI algorithms in production environments
• Passion for AI, data, and creating products that make a difference

Nice to Have

• Experience with document classification, entity extraction, or NLP models 
• Expertise with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS)
• Familiarity with .NET and cloud native architecture services
• Prototype experience with modern AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face) 
• Strong engineering background, comfortable moving between research prototypes and scalable systems
