Precision Medicine Data Scientist

2bPrecise, an Aranscia subsidiary, is a precision medicine data delivery platform that bridges the gap between genomics and the clinical workflow and provides decision support insights to doctors across the entire healthcare enterprise. As a PM Data Scientist, you will be involved in research projects, as well as the development of new products and technologies. This position requires deep understanding of molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics. As part of this position, you will support content-driven product capabilities by researching, defining, and integrating scientific knowledgebases into the 2bPrecise platform. You will work closely with the product and development group that is charged with planning and developing our product lines. You will participate in improving existing products as well as developing new products based on your industry experience, customers and prospects inputs, and your own innovations. Therefore, you must possess a unique blend of scientific, business, and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.

Key Responsibilities

·       Analysis of scientific knowledgebases to support their integration into the product.

·       Analysis of clinical and genetic datasets to support:

o  On demand reports for customers

o  Insights into customer behavior to support internal multidisciplinary teams

o  Proof of concept for future developments.

·       Curation of professional guidelines for maintenance and updates of a proprietary 2bPrecise KB.

·       Participate in defining, prioritizing, and implementing new decision support solutions by:

o  Mining professional literature to assess motivation and value

o  Outlining solution business requirements with product team  

o  Provide scientific input for UX decisions

o  Provide scientific support for dev team in implementation processes

·       Provide support for professional services in ensuring integrity of molecular results integration

·       Identify scientific gaps / areas for improvement in current product

·       Participate and contribute at scientific conferences, meetings and national conventions.

·       Provide educational sessions to product development team as needed.

Requirements

·       PhD in Molecular biology, Genetics or Bioinformatics- required

·       5 years experience in the healthcare industry (e.g., pharma, biotech, device or diagnostics)- required

·       Programming skills (Python, Java, SQL)- required

·       Deep knowledge and understanding of molecular diagnostics, lab methods, molecular pathways and genomic terminology

·       Familiarity with regulatory guidance, relevant genomic and clinical diagnostic product promotion

·       Excellent listening, oral, presentation and written communication skills

·       High level of proficiency in English

·       Experience in scientific data mining and scientific writing

·       An excellent team player – highly effective in working with others but also independently as necessary

·       Strong strategic and critical thinking skills

·       Ability to multi-task and an attention to details

·       This position may require travel to customer and non-customer sites as needed worldwide
