Marketing Performance Analyst (User Acquisition)

About the Role
One of the largest high-tech companies in the global market is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Marketing Performance Analyst to join our team and support their user acquisition efforts. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our marketing strategies by analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to enhance campaign performance.
Your first responsibility will be to architect and implement a comprehensive tracking strategy using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and other tools to provide clear insights into our user acquisition funnel. In this role, you will collaborate with multiple teams across (including Engineering, Product, and Marketing) and with external performance agencies.
Responsibilities
- Performance Analysis & Reporting: Conduct ongoing and ad-hoc analysis of user acquisition campaigns, translating media performance metrics (e.g., impressions, clicks, cost) into core business outcomes (e.g., user growth, cost per acquisition, LTV).
- Incrementality Measurement: Design, implement, and analyze experiments (i.e A/B tests), incrementality studies (e.g., geo-lift tests) to measure the true, causal impact of various marketing channels. Maintain a prioritized backlog of tests to continuously refine our understanding of media effectiveness.
- Attribution & Media Mix Modeling (MMM): Develop and refine multi-touch attribution (MTA) models to accurately credit different touchpoints in the user journey. Build and maintain Media Mix Models (MMM) to inform strategic budget allocation across channels.
- Funnel Optimization: Analyze the user journey across web and app platforms to identify drop-off points and opportunities for optimization, leveraging data-driven attribution models within Google's ad stack.
- Technical Collaboration: Partner with engineering and web teams to ensure the data and tracking infrastructure meets analytical needs. Advise on Google Analytics (GA4) schema, event mapping, and pixel implementation to ensure robust and accurate data collection for attribution and analysis.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present findings, insights, and recommendations to growth leads and cross-functional stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner to influence growth strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a marketing data analysis role focused on user acquisition, growth marketing and media analytics.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with Google Ads Stack, Google Analytics (GA4), including a solid understanding of its data schema, event tracking, and attribution models.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing performance marketing campaigns and key metrics (e.g., CPA, LTV, ROAS).
- Direct experience with advanced analytical techniques such as Media Mix Modeling (MMM) and data-driven attribution.
- A strong technical understanding of website tracking principles, including pixel implementation and the role of tag management systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager).
- Familiarity with Mobile Measurement Partners (MMPs) like AppsFlyer.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) to build insightful dashboards and reports.
