About The Role

We are seeking a Backend Tech Lead to join our global R&D department.

In this role, you will combine strong hands-on development with technical leadership. You will lead the team from a technological perspective, guiding technology decisions, ensuring best practices, and setting a high technical bar. You will serve as a technical reference for complex challenges while mentoring, inspiring, and enabling team members to grow.

Your focus will be on designing and scaling complex systems and Big Data pipelines, solving architectural and performance challenges, and driving innovation into our core products.

What You’ll Do

• Lead hands-on development of complex features and components from concept to deployment
• Drive technical excellence: own architecture decisions, code quality, and development standards
• Serve as the go-to technical expert and problem solver for the team
• Mentor and coach engineers, supporting their growth and fostering knowledge sharing
• Investigate and adopt new technologies, driving innovation into the product
• Take ownership across the full development lifecycle: design, coding, testing, deployment, and production troubleshooting
• Design for scalability, sustainability, and high performance in production-grade environments

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in developing data-oriented, highly complex products using Java/Python/other OOP languages - Must
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead / Senior Engineer with leadership responsibilities
• Experience in data processing frameworks such as Spark or Pandas (experience with Minio / Airflow - an advantage)
• Strong experience in production-level troubleshooting and SDLC methodologies
• Experience with distributed databases (e.g., Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis)
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Familiarity with AI tools to enhance and accelerate development workflows
• Experience with developing microservices-based architectures
• Experience working in container-based environments using tools such as K8s, Helm
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow)
• Experience with RedHat OpenShift
• Dev environment knowledge: Git, Jenkins, Docker
• Experience collaborating with teams located both in Israel and internationally
