Head of Professional Accounting Department

Role Purpose:

Lead and manage the company’s professional accounting and financial reporting department, provide expert accounting advisory, and ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. The role includes full responsibility for preparing consolidated financial statements, implementing regulatory and professional updates, and leading the group’s community of accountants while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the group’s professional accounting department and lead a team of 2 assistant controllers.
• Provide ongoing accounting advisory to headquarters and finance teams across the business units.
• Oversee financial statement disclosures, including the implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and define accounting policies.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and perform professional reviews of subsidiaries and affiliates’ reports.
• Review and draft accounting memos on various ad hoc topics.
• Partner in updating and implementing the group’s accounting policies.
• Lead the group’s accountants’ community, developing annual learning processes in partnership with HR.
• Implement regulatory and accounting updates across the organization in collaboration with finance teams.
• Manage the accounting activities of the group’s FoodTech incubator, including financial reporting, budget monitoring, and accounting support for portfolio companies.
• Work closely with external auditors and advisors.

Requirements:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• In-depth accounting knowledge, including proven experience with complex accounting issues – must.
• Experience in the professional department of a Big 4 accounting firm – must.
• Team leadership and people management experience – significant advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Israeli Securities Regulations.
• Experience auditing and supporting large Israeli public companies.
• Excellent English skills (spoken and written).
