The Sandbox is an early-stage incubator for hardware-based startups focused on defense and national security solutions for Israel and its allies. We provide technical, business, and go-to-market support, helping founders turn innovative ideas into field-ready products.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Engineering Support team member to help keep our lab running smoothly and support the technical side of our work with startups. This role is ideal for an engineering student who wants to gain real-world experience with CNC machining, 3D printing, and product development in a fast-paced innovation environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lab Management: Oversee day-to-day lab operations, ensuring all equipment is maintained, safe, and ready for use.

Inventory & Procurement: Manage parts ordering, track inventory, and maintain organized storage of tools, components, and materials.

Technical Evaluation: Assist the Sandbox team in evaluating startups’ technology, providing input on feasibility and technical considerations.

Engineering Support: Work directly with startup teams to troubleshoot engineering challenges and prototype solutions.

Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain CNC machines, 3D printers, and related fabrication tools.

Requirements

Practical experience with CNC machining and 3D printing.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently, take initiative, and own projects from start to finish.

Strong problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with prototyping and fabrication processes.

Interest in defense technology, hardware, or product development.

Currently studying in an engineering field (mechanical engineering preferred).

Schedule & Commitment

3 days per week, in-person at our Tel Aviv facility.
