Hardware Engineering Manager

One of our clients, a fast-growing technology startup working at the intersection of robotics, AI, and advanced sensing technologies, is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to join their team in Tel Aviv. The company develops cutting-edge autonomous systems that combine hardware, software, and cloud-based capabilities to deliver high-performance solutions for complex maintenance and infrastructure applications.

About the Role

We are seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager with deep expertise in both electronics and mechanics, capable of leading the development of complex robotic systems. The product integrates electronic and mechanical challenges that are tightly interlinked, requiring a holistic system-level perspective and strong technical understanding in both domains to drive design, integration, and problem-solving. This role emphasizes developing complex systems, leading end-to-end engineering processes, and effectively managing cross-functional interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Take full system ownership, integrating and coordinating between the product’s mechanical and electronic subsystems.
• Lead the development, design, and integration of multidisciplinary systems.
• Collaborate with electronics, mechanics, software, and operations teams to address complex engineering challenges.
• Manage tasks and integration processes with subcontractors and manufacturing partners.
• Evaluate components, materials, and solutions to meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.
• Drive improvements and optimization in the existing system.
• Prepare to take on team leadership responsibilities in the future (subject to performance and team growth).

Requirements

• BSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field; MSc preferred.
• 5+ years of experience developing multidisciplinary systems integrating electronics and mechanics.
• Strong preference for candidates with an electronics background and solid mechanical understanding, or significant mechatronics experience.
• Proven ability to take a holistic system-level view and solve complex engineering problems.
• Experience working with embedded systems; proficiency in Python, C++, and familiarity with AWS (CI/CD) are advantages.
• Strong technical leadership skills, ability to manage multiple interfaces, and excellent interpersonal communication.
• Experience with subcontractors and manufacturing processes – an advantage.
