Mechanical Engineer – Hydropower Turbine Specialists

Experienced Mechanical Engineer to support a repair and refurbishment project of Francis-type pump-turbines at a hydroelectric pumped storage power station in Israel.

The role includes technical support and review, site management and supervision of the mechanical overhaul works, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, schedule, and safety, with constant relations with the project stakeholders (including contractor, client representatives, O&M…).

Planned project duration is approx. 9 months, starting in late 2025 and continuing through Q3 2026.

·      Supervision, follow-up and coordination of site activities between main contractor and O&M on site.

·      Technical review of engineering and contractor documentation.

·      Technical assessment and advising for mechanical repairs on various hydro-units components, based on observations at site.

·      Site supervision over the mechanical works executed by the subcontractors, and quality assurance.

·      Ongoing reporting of works progress and issues to project management.

·      At least 10 years of relevant experience in hydroelectric facilities, erection and heavy maintenance.

·      In-depth mechanical knowledge of Francis-type pump-turbines.

·      Hands-on experience in turbine overhaul projects.

·      Strong communication and project supervision skills.

·      Fluent in English; French and Hebrew is an advantage
