Senior Business Customer-Facing Application Engineer

A unique, high-impact role in the Israeli subsidiary of a global corporation – seeking a senior engineer with strong business and managerial orientation, or an experienced engineer with a proven background in Field Application, Product Management, and working with defense, medical, and industrial clients. Significant expertise in Motion Control, Automation, or Robotics is required. The position involves direct engagement with defense, medical, advanced manufacturing, and high-tech (IoT) clients, with a clear growth path toward a managerial role.

Location: Northern Sharon, Israel

Type: Single role in the company, intended exclusively for candidates with relevant engineering and professional experience.

The company is a well-established, global market leader specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of precision motion systems. Its products include DC and BLDC motors, gearboxes, motion controllers, and optoelectronic components, serving top-tier clients in defense, industrial automation, robotics, and medical device sectors.

The person in this role will be directly exposed to complex needs of defense, medical, and industrial clients, acting as a trusted advisor. Required is a strong engineering background in Motion Control, Automation & Control, and Mechatronics, along with expertise in applications, product, and design. Proven experience managing complex processes with industrial, defense, robotics, and process automation organizations is essential, as is the ability to lead clients through the pre-sale stage until handover to inside sales.

The role involves leading strategic partnerships with key clients, bridging advanced technological capabilities with real-world operational needs, delivering tailored precision motion solutions, driving business development, expanding activity in existing divisions, and penetrating first-tier industrial and defense companies. The work combines frequent on-site visits with office-based activity, including collaboration with global engineering teams, preparing specifications, responding to RFQs, and building long-term relationships with engineers, procurement managers, and senior project managers.

Daily responsibilities include close cooperation with technical teams in Israel and abroad to solve complex technological challenges, managing outsourced development and production projects with OEMs, and coordinating with global business units, especially in manufacturing and technical support. The role also includes international training, self-directed learning, and leading the company’s technical knowledge base in Israel.

Key accountabilities include maintaining and expanding technical, engineering, and business relationships with Israel’s leading corporations, meeting organizational sales targets, managing complex technical projects with KPI-based performance, supporting senior clients at critical technological decision points, delivering high-level technical presentations and product demonstrations, transferring advanced know-how from the global parent company, contributing to innovation processes, and providing actionable insights to global R&D and innovation departments.

Compensation & Work Environment

The Israeli operation is a small, family-like unit of approximately 10 employees, operating as a direct subsidiary of a large international corporation. This is a full-time position with regular on-site presence at the Northern Sharon office. The role is not remote or hybrid. המהנדס/ת בתפקיד זה יהיה/תהיה חשוף/ה ישירות לצרכים מורכבים של לקוחות ביטחוניים, רפואיים ותעשייתיים, ויפעל/תפעל כ-Trusted Advisor. נדרש רקע חזק ב-Motion Control, Automation and Control, Mechatronics, הבנה בצד האפליקטיבי/מוצר/תכנון, וניסיון מוכח בעבודה מול גופים תעשייתיים וביטחוניים בפרויקטים מורכבים. התפקיד כולל יכולת להוביל לקוחות עד שלב ההעברה למכירות פנים.

העבודה כוללת הובלת שותפות מקצועית עם לקוחות אסטרטגיים, חיבור בין טכנולוגיות מתקדמות לצרכים בשטח, התאמת פתרונות הנעה מדויקים, פיתוח עסקי, ביסוס והרחבת קשרים עם חטיבות קיימות וחדשות, וחדירה לחברות מהשורה הראשונה. הפעילות משלבת ביקורים תכופים בשטח לצד עבודה משרדית – כולל תכנון והתייעצות עם גורמי מטה הנדסיים בחו"ל, הכנת מפרטים ומענה לדרישות הנדסיות, וניהול קשרים ארוכי טווח עם אנשי הנדסה, רכש ומנהלי פרויקטים בכירים.

התפקיד מצריך עבודה צמודה עם צוותים טכניים בארץ ובחו"ל לפתרון אתגרים טכנולוגיים מורכבים, תוך ניהול פרויקטי פיתוח וייצור במיקור חוץ אצל חברות OEM. נדרשת יכולת לתאם פעילות מול יחידות עסקיות גלובליות, בעיקר בתחום הייצור והתמיכה הטכנית. התפקיד כולל גם השתלמויות בינלאומיות, למידה עצמאית, והובלת הידע הארגוני בארץ.

אחריות התפקיד כוללת שימור והרחבת הקשרים העסקיים-טכניים עם התאגידים המובילים בישראל, עמידה ביעדי מכירות, ניהול פרויקטים טכניים מורכבים ומדדי KPI, ליווי לקוחות בכירים בצמתים טכנולוגיים, העברת מצגות והדגמות מוצר ברמה גבוהה, וכן העברת ידע, פיתוח דרישות לחדשנות והזנת תובנות למחלקות הפיתוח והחדשנות הגלובליות.
