Data Engineer

Join the technology division of a leading insurance company based in central Israel and play a key role in the development and maintenance of large-scale data processing systems in a modern cloud environment.

This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools such as Azure, Databricks, and Data Factory, while building impactful solutions that support critical investment and business operations.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Python, Spark, and SQL.
• Work within a cloud-based architecture (Azure) leveraging Databricks and Data Factory for big data processing.
• Optimize performance and manage data storage using Parquet files.
• Gather business requirements from users and translate them into technical specifications.
• Lead end-to-end delivery: from technical specification, through development and testing, to production deployment and user onboarding.
• Define data interfaces and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Collaborate directly with business stakeholders, ensuring autonomy and ownership over key components.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in Python development-must!
• Experience writing complex SQL queries-must!
• Hands-on experience with Spark-must!
• Experience working with large-scale databases and query optimization-advantage
• Experience with React development-advantage‍
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science-advantage
