Senior ML/AI Engineer – Language Lead

We’re looking for a Senior ML/AI Engineer to lead everything language at Package.ai—designing the agent workflows that replace or assist human agents, extracting meaning from text, and embedding intelligence into every touchpoint.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role. What you build will go to production fast and touch millions of real-world interactions a year. You’ll be our internal expert and decision-maker when it comes to language and AI, with full ownership and the freedom to shape the future of our agent technology.

What you’ll do

• Take full ownership of the natural language layer of our platform - from data to design to deployment.
• Build smart, effective agent workflows that solve real customer problems.
• Own key NLP and LLM-based components: intent detection, text extraction, summarization, memory, grounding and more.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in AI and apply them where they matter.
• Collaborate across the company to make sure what you create drives value at the product and business level.
• Contribute to other ML areas across the platform.

What you bring

• 5+ years of industry experience, with a BSc or higher in CS or a related field.
• Hands-on production experience with large language models and NLP pipelines.
• A track record of building ML/AI features that make it to real users.
• Experience with Kotlin, Java, Scala or Go in production environments.
• Bonus: experience working in fast-moving startups where speed and ownership matter.
• Strong written and spoken English – you’ll need to communicate clearly across the team.
